Quick note.
Earlier this year I decided to develop a custom Options back-testing platform. There were several reasons for it, all of which were detailed in "The Struggle is Real".
Well, "Forgive me Father for I have sinned".
I just haven't delivered.
I thought I would have something ready by the end of Summer, but this is one of those times where it just hasn't been possible. Several readers have written to me overtime to inquire about the Options back-testing project. Better to just publicly acknowledge the facts.
I did get to purchase SPX Options historical data going back to the year 2,000. I built a tool for parsing all the csv files and importing millions of records into a relational database. I also started to develop actual code for the front-end and back-testing engine. And then,....then life threw a few curve balls that took away more of my personal time.
The project is on hold for now, and sad to say, I'm not sure when I will be able to continue working on it. This sucks because there is money already invested in the purchase of historical data as well as increased hosting costs to support a larger database over at LTOptions.com. But, I just have to be realistic. I won't have the necessary free time available in the near future, and this thing requires pretty significant efforts.
One day,.....one day this site will be a legit cash cow that will support me and my entire family of hungry Cubans. Then I will not be tied all day to a demanding full time job and I'll have all the free time in the world for personal projects of all sorts. One day,...one day...
